Abstract: The identification of the synthetic fibres is an important question of forersic identification. We measure the melting point and melting heat of the synthetic fibres using differential scanning, calorimefry (DSC) technique. From experiment result, not only can determine the chemical composition of the synthetic fibres, but also determine the quantitative composition of polyester/cotton blends. This is very worthy for forensic science.
