Abstract: A double antibody ABC- ELISA using NHBH conjugatehas ben investigated on krait venom standards, which revealed that the optimal reaction over the range was 0.25- 250 ng/ml, intra- and inter- assay variations were lessthan 8% and 16%, recovery was 78% -89% within thesame range, the cross Teaction with cobra venom was negligible. The studies of the factors affectins detection of the venom through three orthogonal tables show that the serumand kidney tissue from the experimental animals were the most satisfaCtory samples for identifying snake biting within 720 hours after death. The results of the experiment data indicate a strong reliability for routine test.
