Abstract: The method of toxicological screening by HPLC relative retention time, peak height ratio detected by UV 230nm and UV 250nm and peak height ratio detected by fluorescence and ultraviolet 250nm were reported here. Using relative retention time, only 24. 3% of 37 toxicantS could be distinguished. When the retention times, peak height ratio detected by UV 230nm and UV 250nm and peak height ratio detected by fluorescence and UV 250nm were used, 94.6% of 37 toxicants could be distinguished. The influence of concentration and volume in injected sample, the ratio of methanol and pH in mobile phase, different column as well as the column temperature on the relative retentiontime and peak height ratio of toxicants was observed.
