Abstract: Gc phenotypes were determined in sera from 317 individuals of Qiang population in Sichuan using polyacrylamide disc-electrophoresis. Three phenotypes, Gcl-1; Gc1-2; Gc2-2, were observed which was controlled by two alleles Gc~1 and Gc~2. The distribution of three phenotypes was Gc1-1 51.41%; Gc 2-1 38.49%; Gc 2-2 10.1% respectively and the gene frequencies are Gc~1 0.7066 and Gc~2 0.2934. The probability of discrimination(DP)was 0.5776. The difference of distribution of Gc phenotypes in Qiang nationality and that in Han nationality was not significant.
