Forensic Pathological Study of Ten Autopsy Cases of Primary Cardiomyopathy in Sudden and Unexpected Death LI DEXIANG;CHEN HUIFANG. LU XINQUAN (DEPARTMENT OF FORENSIC MEDICINE;CHINA MEDICAL UNIVERSITY) 1987, 0(3): 1-5.  Abstract ( 1904 )   This is ten cases of Primary Cardiomyopathy in 7 cases of the hypertrophic (obliterative) type and 3 cases of extensive (congestive) type. Hypertrophic type is marked hypertrophy of ventricular syptum with bizarre arrange ment of various sized muscle fibers and marked fibrosis and the other changes, including marked proliferation of hypertrophied smooth muscle cell and marked endofibroelastosis of small coronaryor lipotissue infiltrition invade the interstitial, conducting tissue and nervousganglions. ON THE CORRELATION OF THE ATTRITION DEGREES OF THE TEETH SONG HONGWEI;JIA JINGTAO (FACULTY OF FORENSIC MEDICINE;CHINA MEDICAL UNIVERSITY;CHINA) 1987, 0(3): 6-10+2.  Abstract ( 1966 )   The correlation among the attrition degrees of the teeth was studied on 880 cases from Liaoning province in China. "Correlation matrix table on the attrition degrees of the teeth", which was obtained by applying the Theory of Quantification Type Ⅳ and the computer Science, showed obviourly a close relation among the attrition degrees of the teeth, and solved the problems caused by the missed, the injured, the filled and the dental caries whose attrition degrees of the tooth could not be judged in the past. At same time, it more accurately provided the scientific method to replace the attrition degrees of the incomplete tooth.The statistical analysis was given from 1 to 4 tables. The results are as follows: 1. The sequence of correlation on the attrition degrees of the respective tooth: first, the near tooth in the same name tooth group on the same jaw; second, the same name tooth in the opposite side on the same jaw; third, other teeth. 2. The correlation on the attrition degrees of the same name tooth groups on the same jaw: for the upper jaw,the sequence is molars,premolars,incisors,canines; for the lower jaw, molars, incisors, premolars, canines. 3. The sequence of correlation on the attrition degrees of the same name tooth groups on the opposite jaw is. molars, premolars, canines, incisors. 4. The sequence of correlation on the attrition degrees of the different name tooth groups is: molars and premolars, premolars and canines, canines and incisors, molars and canines, molars and incisors, premolars and incisors. Individual Identification of Human Serum Stains by Crossed Immunoelectroplioresis WANG SONG;GUO JINGYUAN DEPARTMENT OF FORENSIC SEROLOGY SUN YAT-SEN UNIVERSITY OF MEDICAL SCIENCES 1987, 0(3): 11-15.  Abstract ( 2038 )   To establish the individual characters,the crossed immunoelectophoresis (CIEP) was used to find the difference of serum proteins between two persons. For comparison the height of peaks of CIEP pattern was measured and the ratio of height of two corresponding peaks was calculated. Taking the ratios of eight pairs of corresponding peaks as the value of variate, coefficient of variation (CV) was calculated by principle of statistics. Forty pairs of patterns of the same origin and fifty five pairs of those from different origin were compared. The result indicates that with 10-days-old stains there is no lap betw een the distribution of CV of two groups of same and different origin. Related Articles | Metrics

Distribution of Phenotypes of the Groupspcific Component in Qiang Population ZHAO QU TUTOR: WU MEI YUN DEPARTMENT OF FORENSIC SEROLOGY WEST CHINA UNIVERSITY OF MEDICAL SCIENCE 1987, 0(3): 16-18.  Abstract ( 1777 )   Gc phenotypes were determined in sera from 317 individuals of Qiang population in Sichuan using polyacrylamide disc-electrophoresis. Three phenotypes, Gcl-1; Gc1-2; Gc2-2, were observed which was controlled by two alleles Gc~1 and Gc~2. The distribution of three phenotypes was Gc1-1 51.41%; Gc 2-1 38.49%; Gc 2-2 10.1% respectively and the gene frequencies are Gc~1 0.7066 and Gc~2 0.2934. The probability of discrimination(DP)was 0.5776. The difference of distribution of Gc phenotypes in Qiang nationality and that in Han nationality was not significant. Related Articles | Metrics

An Exploration about the Evaluation of Diminished Responsibility for Schizophrenic Patients 1987, 0(3): 19-22.  Abstract ( 1868 )   9.5% of the harmful acts of schizophrenics is evaluated as diminshed responsibility. Through analysis the reasons that should be so are as follows: 1. The illness has been fundamentally remitted, but the emotional instability still remains and the self—control is weakened. 2. The illness has not been fully remitted and the residuary symptoms still exists. 3. The symptoms of the illness are remarkbly emerging while the offence is committed, but there is no relationship of cause and effect between the illness and the offence. For the time being, however, what is actually the evaluaion of diminished responsibility based on and how to master the rules are left over for further explorations. The forensic psychiatrists should sum up an objective law as well as a practicable norm which will be available to raise the level of legal expertise. Related Articles | Metrics

The Genotoxicity Testing of Mestinon Using Sister Chromatid Exchange as an Indicator HONG XIANKANG ET AL 1987, 0(3): 23-26+3.  Abstract ( 1899 )   In the present paper, Mestinon was tested for its possible genotoxicity by using sister chromatid exchange (SCE) as an indicator in human lymphocytes and cultured hamster Wg3-h cells. Experinental results indicated that the SCE frequency in human lymphocytes was incresed by Mestinon which is statistically significant(P 0.01 T test)at a dosage of 500μg/ml. The SCE rates of Wg3-h cells was also increased when Mestinon was actived by S-9 (The rat liver microsome preparation). The differences between the experimental data and the control were signifcant(P 0.001, T test). Related Articles | Metrics
