Forensic Pathological Study of Traumatic Myocardial Infarction in Seven Cases

Abstract: Seven examples of traumatic myocardil infarction caused by blunt forceseffecting on the chest described.This study is based on seven cases of foren-sic pathological autopsy in which the clinical history and the pathologicalchanges of traumatic myocardial infarction was confirmed.In five cases of theseven the lesion was not recognised at the time of the blunt trauma but becameclinically important 6 to 27 hours laters,especially after sleeping.As all theseven patients were young(18—35 years old)and had unusual traumatic lesionsthe damage of myocardial infarction could be attributed to the blunt forces onthe chest of patients.This study demonstrated that the myocardial infarction may be caused bythe blunt forces on chest of healthy young men.
