Abstract: The autolytic ultrastructural changes of the rabbit myocardium were observed in vitro. These changes included depletion of glycogen, nuclear and mitochondrial changes.The mitochondrial were swollen,exhibited decreased matrix density,and developed flocculent dense bodies in the matrix space. These dense bodies increased in size and number as the period of autolysis was prolonged.It is helpful for determining the time of death.
