Abstract: A new column was developed in this research. Itcontains a proprietary bonded silica sorbent that exhibitsmixed extraction mechanism. A single-column solidphase extraction procedure was also developed for thescreening of acidic, neutral and basic abuse drugs. Therecovery of all 7 tested drugs exceeded 60%. Theextraction mechanism for different abuse drugs on thenew column was explored and was compared with onother columns. It is suggested that this column beeffective in systematic toxicological analysis and betterthan other columns.
