    1998, 0(2): 65-66+1.
    Abstract ( 2082 )
The brain vascular corrosion casts of closed diffosebrain injuries were studied by SEM in rats. Thecontfaction and spasm of perforating arteriole andsphincter-muscle of capillaries in brain stems wereobserved. The capillaries are about 2-5μm in diameter,While the normal 10-15μm. The mechanism of thecontraction and its effects were discussed.

    1998, 0(2): 67-68+7.
    Abstract ( 1764 )
In order to study the viscera changes after braindeath while the function of the heart and lung wassustained artificially, 34 cats were used and divided intothree groups. The results showed that pathologicalchanges of viscera (heart, lung, liver and kidney)developed, including 1. ischemic cardiomyopathy, endocardic hemorrhage, focal necrosis, mitochondriaand microfilament destruction. 2. pulmonary congestion, edema and parenchymal inflammation. 3. ischemiclesions in the central band of hepatic lobular andischemic lesions in renal proximal convoluted tubule.

Cardic pathological study of sudden death due to myocarditis: Analysis of 17 cases
LI YONGHONG;GU YONGLI (DEPARTMENT OF FORENSICMEDICINE;WHNNAN MEDICAL COLLEGE;WHHU;ANHUI;00)
    1998, 0(2): 69-70+1.
    Abstract ( 1950 )
17 cases of sudden death due to myocarditis werepresented. The problem of the classification andmechanism of sudden death is discussed. It is concludedthat heart function failure is the main reason for thesudden death of myocarditis.

An immunohistochemical study of basic fibroblast growth factor in early acute myocardial ischcmia
    CHEN JIANGUO;XU XIAOHU;ZHAO LIANXU;ET AL.(DEPARTMENT OF FORENSIC PATHOLOGY.SUN YAT-SENUNIVERSITY OF MEDICAL SCIENCES. GUANGZHOU 00)
    1998, 0(2): 71-73+1.
    Abstract ( 2000 )
With the use of immunohistochemistry, the expression of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) in earlyacute myocardial ischemia of rats was studied. It wasobserved that there was an initial (30min) rise in bFGFexpression in limited ischemic myocardium areas andperimyocardial ischemia areas. The grade of expressionof bFGF increased with the continuation of ischemia. The results of image analysis and statistical processsuggested that the expression of bFGF reach a high levelin ischemic myocardial areas after three hour's ofischemia, significantly higher than in control group andin group B1, but no significant difference in pericardialischemia areas and normal areas of the same group. Insummary, early acute myocardial ischemia is accompanied by rapid and prolonged increase in expression ofbFGF with characteristic spatial and temporal kinetic. This finding suggests that the immunohistochemicalstaining of bFGF provide objective morphologicevidence for the diagnosis of early myocardial ischemia.

A morphological study of human hair tips by scan electronic microscope (SEM)
DING MINJU (SHANGHAI INSTITUTE OF FORENSIC SCIENCES;SHANGHAI 000)
    1998, 0(2): 74-75+1.
    Abstract ( 1927 )
Morphological characteristics of human hair tip wasstudied by SEM. It was concluded that human hair tipscould be classified into eight types. The tip formation, distribution and changes after being trimmed wereexplored. This study can be used in the mechanismresearch of human hair growth and the forensic hairexamination.

The history of heroin abuse by assaying 6-MAM and MOR in human hair
ZHUO XIANYI;WU MOUTIAN;HONG ZHANYING (.INSTITUTEOF FORENSIC SCIENCES;MINISTRY OF JUSTICE;SHANGHAI000;.COLLEGE OF PHARMACY THE SECOND MILITARYMEDICAL UNIVERSITY;SHANGHAI 00)
    1998, 0(2): 76-78+1.
    Abstract ( 2070 )
The purpose of this study is to conclude the historyof heroin abuse by assaying 6-monoacetylmorphine(MAM) and morphine (MOR) in human hair. The hair ofheroin abuse was labeled and segmented, then washedand cut into fragments. After hydrolyses and extraction,6-MAM and MOR in human hair were determined byGC/MS-SIM with selected ion monitoring. Results of thesegmented hair were analyzed. It provided usefulinformation about the history of heroin abuse (hairgrowth rate 1-1.5cm/mon).

The application of solid phase extraction for systematic toxicological analysis of abuse drugs
    WB HEJIAN;HUANG ZHONGJIE;SHEN MIN (INSTITUTE OFFORENSIC SCIENCE;PRC SHANGHAI 000)
    1998, 0(2): 79-81+7.
    Abstract ( 1835 )
A new column was developed in this research. Itcontains a proprietary bonded silica sorbent that exhibitsmixed extraction mechanism. A single-column solidphase extraction procedure was also developed for thescreening of acidic, neutral and basic abuse drugs. Therecovery of all 7 tested drugs exceeded 60%. Theextraction mechanism for different abuse drugs on thenew column was explored and was compared with onother columns. It is suggested that this column beeffective in systematic toxicological analysis and betterthan other columns.

Extraction and amplification of DNA from formalin-fixed human tissues
LI LI. QUE TINGZHI;LIN YUAN;GONG YUCHANG (INSTITUTEOF FORENSIC SCIENCES;MINISTRY OF JUSTICE;SHANGHAI000)
    1998, 0(2): 87-88+1.
    Abstract ( 1972 )
A method was developed for the extraction of DNAfrom formalin-fixed human tissues prepared for routinehispathological examination. The extracted DNA wasnot intact. By increasing the formalin fixation time thenecessary amount of intact DNA decreased. Theprocedure reported here made the final product suitablefor quantitative and qualitative analysis and for DNAtyping by PCR technique.
