Abuse of"PHETICOL"and Its Interfenence to the Analysis of Methamphetamine SHEN MIN;XIANG PING;HUANG ZHONGJIE;LIU WEI;SHENBAOHUA;BU JUN （INSTITUTE OF FORENSIC SCIENCES;MINISTRYOF JUSTICE;000） 1998, 0(3): 129-131+.  Abstract ( 1775 )   The study was to eliminate interference from ephed- rine in the analysis of methamphetamine 。The extractionprocedure for methamphetamine was modified to includean oxidation step （2ml urine specimen was trecimen was treated with 0.5ml of lmol／L phosphate buffer（pH6. 8） and 0.5ml0. 3mol／L sodium periodate）. Results showed that ephed-rinecould be oxidized in the presence of periodare ions in-to smaller fragments while leaving methamphetamine in-tact．It is recommended that specimens be treated with sodium periodate prior to extraction in order to eliminateany interference caused by ephedrine． Related Articles | Metrics

The Diagnosticc of “Contraction Bands”of Striated Muscle in Forensic Pathology WANG HUIJUN;LIU BING WU ZHONGBI（DEPARTMENT OF UL-TRASTRUCTURAL PATHOLOGY;RESEARCH CENTER OF EXPERIMENTALMDICINE;TONGJI MEDICLAL UNIVERSITY;WUANG;000） 1998, 0(3): 132-333+.  Abstract ( 1890 )   The contraction bands of cardiac and skeletal muscleprobes were studied They were taken from autopsy caseswith different death causes. The morphologic characteris-tics of the contraction bands that were closely related todiagnosis were carefully observed. It was found that the morphological Pattems of the contraction bands were vari-ous and are some were regularly seen for the death with cer-tain causes. The forensic significane of the contractionbands was then discussed and it was suggested that themorphology of contraction bands of the striated musclecorrelate to the type and structure of tissues as well as tothe property of injuries. Immunohistochemical research on brain stem injury：expression of heat shock protein 70 in rat brain after traumatic brain stem injury ZHAO LIANXU;XU XIAOHU;ZHU JIAZHEN;CHEN JIANGUO（FACULTY OF FORENSIC MEDICINE;SUN YAT- SEN UNIVERSITYOF MEDICAL SCIENCES;GUANGZHOU 00） 1998, 0(3): 135-137+.  Abstract ( 1952 )   The aim of this study was to determine the expres-sion of heat shock protein 70 （HSP70）as molecular chap-erones ，following tratunatic brain stem injury （TBSI） Theexpression HSP70 was detected in respective brain re-gions of rats 1h, 3h, 6h, 12h, 24h after brain stem stab-bing wound. Numerous HSP70 immunoreactivity positive blood vessel endothelioid and glia cells were found in ce-rebral, cerebellar cortex and hippocampus after lh, withH. E stain unchanged. In the area near the focal of brainstem injury ，HSP70 immunoreactivity positive neurons in-creased significantly after 1h of injury, reaching the high-est level ds 3h, much higher than in other areas.HSP70 immunoreactivity positive cells still existed after24h of injury. It was suggested that TBSI cause the de-fectiveness of protein structure in brain， and induceHSP70 proteolysis of denature Protein including mistold-ing or aggregate. TBSI can be diagnosed regionally by theincreasing of HSP70 immunoreactivity positive neurons in the focal of brain stems. Related Articles | Metrics

PCR-based Detection of had HLA-DQαand Polymarker Loci And Their Application in Forensic Science LIN YUAN;QUE TINGZHI;LILI;ZHAO ZHENMIN （INSTI-TUTE OF FORENSIC SCIENCES;MINISTRY OF JUSTICE;SHANGHAI;000） 1998, 0(3): 138-140+.  Abstract ( 2029 )   Studies were conducted to evaluate the forensic ap-plicability of multiplex amplification of HLA -DQα and PM loci. These loci could be simultaaneously typed by re-verse dot blot approach where allele specificoligonucleoti-de probes were immobilized on a nylon membrane strip.Allele and genotype frequencies for HLA -DQα and PMloci were determined in Chinese Han population . It is easy to use. 63 cases of parentage testing in our deparatment were calculated, and the resultswere identical with those of manual calculation.
