Abstract: Cyclooxygenase (COX) is the obligate, rate- limiting enzyme for the conversion of arachidonic acid intoprostaglandins, which mediate mitogenesis, apoptosis, angiogenesis, blood flow, secondary injury, and inflammation.COX is consi st of 2 subtypes: COX- 1 and COX- 2. In recent years, there are a number of lines of evidencethat COX- 1 and COX- 2 play a important in role brain injuries.
