Abstract: Objective To explore the influencing factors of criminal responsibility in psychotic of fenders.Methods A responsibility rating scale for mentally illness(self-developed by Institute of Mental Health,Hunan Medical University)was used to assess159psychotic offenders who were di vided three groups according to the difference responsibility level.Results There are significant differences in the rating score among the groups.The main relative factors of responsibility assess ment for psychotic offenders are understanding of behavioral consequence,realistic motivation,im pairment of self-control,impairment of insight,time selectivity of committing an offence,impairment of reality testing,impairment of life ability and impairment of work or learning ability.Conclusion It suggested that the responsibility rating scale is more effective than experimental evaluation in the assessment of responsibility for psychotic offenders.
