    Human Serum Transferrin Polymorphism in Population Of Guangdong, China and Its Application in Forensic Science

    The distribution of transferrin phenotypes in the population of Guangdong, China, was investigated by isoelectric focusing on polyacrylamide gel. In our Samples (n=258), the frequencies of five phenotypes were as follows: TfC1C1=56.20%, TfC2C1=31.39%, TfC2C2=5.43%, TfC1D=5.43% and TfC1B=1.55%. The allele frequencies were calculated: TFC1=0.7539, TFC2=0.2112, TfD=0.0271 and TfB=0.0078. The observed and expected phenotypes provided a good fit to Hardy-Weinberg equelibrium. The analysis of 6 mother-child pairs was in agreement with Mendelian inheritance. The phenotypes of TfC1C1, TfC2C1 and TfC2C2 were compared to those found in other populations. Based on the data, the probability of excluding pater-ity and disciminating power (DP) were 0.1803 and 0.5795, respectely. The Tf phenotypes of bloodstains can be possibly typed at 4℃ for uP to four weeks, 11°—17° for up to five days and 37℃ for up to two days.

    It is generally acknowledged at home and abroad that developing latent fingerprints on white paper with ninhydrin and zinc chloride is the most effectice method. Unfortunately, up to now the carrying solvent of the above two reagents fluorisol has not been produced at home, and the imported fluorisol is very expensive and difficult to purchase. The authors of this paper used chloroform to replace fluorisol acting as the carrying solvent of ninhydrin and zinc chloride. The development results between the above two carrying solvents were compared with a large number samples and treated by statistics (P>0.10). Thus, it was verified that chloroform could be used instead of fluorisol serving as the carrying solvent of ninhydrin and zinc chloride. The authors of this paper also used another solvent methanol to replace fluorisol in developing atent fingerprints experiment, and the development results showed that methanol may be used instead of fluorisol too.

    Identification of Pregnacy Bloodstains by ELISA Using Monoclonal Antibodies to the β-subunit of HCG

    Specific and hignly sensitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) was applied to identification of pregnacy bloodstains using monoclonal antibodies against the carboxylterminal portion of β-subunit. When experimentally prepared bloodstains(about 30 μl blood)were submitted to analysis, OD values in Pregnaoy Bloodstains is 0.39+0.16; OD value in nopregnacy bloodstains is 0.03±0.06. The reaction did not chang significantly when these bloodstains were stored at room temperture for three months. After three months HCG confers in pregnacy bloodstains decreased with increacing aged bloodstains. The HCG cotents can be detected in pregnacy bloodstains exposed to the sun for two months.

    Enzyme-histochemical investigations on autolytic rat heart were reparted. The acidic phosphatase and succinate dehydrogenase, lactodehydrogenase was reduced when 1h and 4h after death. The activity of adenosine triphosphatase was not changed during 24h after death. The author suggests that results that result of enzyme-histochemical is helpful for the estimating time of the death and diagnosis of the acute heart ischmia that wac autolysis.

    A methed is reported about the identification of Hp phenotypes on Gc electrophoretie gel, The 103 normal sera were experimented in Gc disc electropheresis from which Hp phenotypes were read, Using the Hp phenotyping by special Hp electrophoresis as control. The coincidence rate was 97.08%. The method is simple,easy to be carried out and practical.

    The improvement on Gm grouping of dried bloodstains are presented. The dried bloodstains from six kinds of Gm antigens are kept a time of considerable length in varying conditions. The results of passive hemagglutinating inhibition test in test tubes are observed with invert microscope immediately.The polytypety and the stability onGm antigen system, and matters needing attention for the test method are discussed.

    In this paper, a method of qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis of common barbiturates in a little biological sample by capillary gas chromatography is described A fine separate condition of gas chromatography was obtuined on OV—1 capillary column and OV—210 capillary column. A rapid and simple method of quantitative analtsis by capillary gas chromatography was established with allobarbitone as internal standard. The retention value of eighteen sedative and tranqilizer on the same condition of gas chromatography was observed.

    We made a study of the lungs of pulmonary edema of 34 bodies died of brain injury, drowning, strangulation, sudden death and intoxication. The lungs of each type of death had distinguishing feature. In brain injury cases, the fact that the congestion,hemorrhage, alveolar and interstitial edema existed simultaneously was the marked feature, and the edema fluid appeared to be homogeneus pink staining coagulum. It has been termed as"neurogenic pulmonary edema" (NPE).IN drowning cases, alveolar edema was very outstanding, but the edema fluid appeared mostly stringy. It has been described as"emphyseme hydroaerique".IN strangulation cases, perivascular edema was prominent.the fragments of fatty and bonemarrow tissues were found in pulmonary arterioles. The pulmonary vascular system thus was proved itself to be a "target organ of strangulation agony" .IN cardiac failure cases, the edema fluid showed granular appearance. In intoxication cases, alveolar edema and Congestion were obvious, but some inflamatory cells were found in pulmonary vascular system and alveoli.
