The Use of HLA, Gm, Km, and Bf in Paternity Testing: Analysis of 158 Cases ZHAO TONGMAO GU WENJUAN ZHU YONGMIN ZHANG GONGLIANG ZHENG SHUQIN BU KUNJU (SHANGHAI INSTITUTE OF BLOOD TRANSFUSION) 1987, 0(1): 1-2.  Abstract ( 1917 )   A total of 158 paternity cases involved 175 putative fathers and 165 children.were typed for HLA, Gm, Km, and Bf.The number of the couple "father-child" was 185.64 couples in 185(35% )were excluded.The exclusion probabilities observed were 65.63% for HLA-A, 81.25% for HLA-B,30.51%for HLA-C, 26.32% for Gm, 5.26% for Km, and 25% for Bf, respectively.The total exclusion probability was 96.48%.Added to the probabbility obtained with ABO, MN, P, and Rh blood groups,it amounts to 97.94%. Nitrite Detection from Formalin Fixed Liver and Kidney ZHANG WENKE HU BINGWEI 1987, 0(1): 3-4.  Abstract ( 1976 )   The nitrite conservation time of formalin fixed liver and kidney were investigated. 40 male rats had been divided into 4 groups with nitrite oral doses of 110(LD50),220 (LD) and 450 (over LD100) mg/kg respectively.Each rat liver and kidney(the survivors were sacrificed) was divided into two parts: formalin fixed and non-formalin fixed.As a result, the conservation time was prolonged remarkablely in the formalin fixed part.Nitrites could be detected as long as three months in all administrated groups while in non-formalin fixed part, 20 days at the longest (450 mg/kg group) .It shows a great adventage in the work of identification in the field of forensic medicine as it is ordinary to get the samples of cases fixed with formalin. Effect of Interaction of Alcohol Combined with Commonly Used Organohposphates Pesticides. ZHU GUANGYOU;YAN LING;BU JUN;DENG LIPING 1987, 0(1): 5-8.  Abstract ( 2435 )   To estimate the toxicity according to simple chemical is not helpful when severa materials bave??en taken in the forensis cases. The purpose of this tudy is to investigate the effects of the interaction of alcohol + DDVP, alcohol +trichlorfon, alcohol+methamicophos and alcohol+dimethoate in mouse. As a results: the LD50 of alcohol, DDVP, trichlorfon,methamidophos and imethoate were 9501, 71.97, 441. 2, 10.00 and 182.8mg/kg respectively.For the alcohol + DDVP, alcohol + trichlorfon,alcohol+methamidophos and alcohol+ dimethoate the LD50 measured were 5044, 5622, 3281 and 8281 mg/kg and the LD50 expected were 909.1, 5000, 5000 and 5000 mg/kg, hence the ratio of them (LD50 expected/LD50 measured) were 0.1802, 0.8894, 1.5239 and 0.6038 respectively. It is concluded that there is an antagonistical effect of interaction for alcohol+DDVP and an additive effect of interaction for alcohol+trichlorfon,alcohol+methamidophos and alcohol+dimethoate. A Survey on Toxicants Taking by Suicides in a District in Shanghai BU JUN;DENG LIPING;YAN LING;ZHU GUANGYOU 1987, 0(1): 9-13.  Abstract ( 2086 )   A variety of toxicants taking by self-slayer was inves■igated with statistical analysis according to the data from 1980 to 1985 by a certain district in Shanghai. As a result, the chemical toxicants have come into wide use for committing suicide as the percentage of them reached 76.72% of the total number of self-slayer.Organophosphate pesticide and sedasives were the most common chemicals used as shown by the percentage of 81.26%,and the percentage of them-DDVP,chlor-diazepoxide, diazepam, meprobamate and methaqualone was up to 76.51% of total toxicant intake suicides. However, the majority of death from chemical poisoning was organophosphate pesticide, especially DDVP, with 77.98% of total number among those of chemicals. Related Articles | Metrics

A Study for Visible——Ultraviolet Spectrophotometer on Ink Identification XI JIAN-HUA YAO ZHONG-DONG (DEPARTMENT FORENSIC TOXICOLOGY;INSTITUTE OF FORENSIC SCIENCES; MINISTRY OF JUSTICE;PRC 1987, 0(1): 14-16.  Abstract ( 1965 )   The identification of ink is a difficult question in criminal case. In this paper how to apply visible-ultraviolet spectrophotometer into the identification of ink was discussed. There are two maximum absorption top for the blue-black ink in the visible-and ultraviolet region. The wave-length are 288nm and 610am. Tge ratio of their absorption value changes with the type of ink, but doesn't change with the concentration and product date of ink. Related Articles | Metrics

Post-trauma Hydrocephalus ZHANG YIGU 1987, 0(1): 17-19+1.  Abstract ( 1563 )   Post-tramatic hydrocephalus is a rare severe complication that developed bfter head injury. There was few report in interna literature. This paper descriaes a case of communicating hydrocephalus that developed after head injury,and with reference to the literatures the problems associated with forensic medicine such as the cause; onset, clinical manifestations, diagnosis and differential diagnosis, pathological findings, pathogenesis and prognosis are briefly discussed. The Legal Expertise of the Injury Caused by Traffic Accidents WU JUN WANG SAO HUA 1987, 0(1): 20-24.  Abstract ( 1965 )   Traffic accidents play an important role in social problems over the years owing to the serious results of national finance and people's safeguard. The injury caused by traffic accidents relates to criminal responsibility and damage claim as well, and at the same time murders and suicides were involed in a few cases. The identification of injury in traffic accidents, therefore, should not be overlooked in modern forensic sciences.
