Abstract: Autopsy samples of blood, lung and liver taken from the immersed guinea- pags in nature temperature of 15 - 18degree centigrade, were analyzed by headspace gas chromatography. As a result, the linear regressive equations between combined concentration of alcohol and n - butanol in blood, iung and liver and the length of submerging time were respectively as follows: Y1=- 115. 72 + 18. 24X,Y2= - 419. 71+64. 76X, Y3= - 303. 07+54. 87X.The method was relatively accurate within the range of 7 - 13 days after drowned death.

Key words: n - butenol, drowning, time after death, postmortem examination
