Abstract: Postmortem interval (PMI) estimation is one of the most important problems in forensic autopsy. A microspoetrophotometeric study was conducted on the mean nuclear DNA content in rat liver cell after different time postmortem under different environmental temperature (10℃, 21℃, 30℃), We found rat nuclear DNA content was linear related with PMI under 10℃, 20℃ and 30℃ with correlations of-0. 9905,-0. 9863 and -0. 9702 respectively, and the decrease of nuclear DNA content accelerated under higher environmental temperature. We believe the histochemical quantitatve technique should be a new way to correct estimation of PMI.
